Mike our awesome dance instructor!
Mike has been dancing for almost 10 years (you’d think he’d have given up by now!) Having started dancing at the University of Canterbury dance club, where he is now a life member and former senior instructor and mentor, Mike continued training in the latin dance styles with Latin Fire. Mike now teaches our intermediate latin classes in addition to helping out with salsa classes and training and performing with our latin teams. As well as teaching dance classes in Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha (or whatever we can rope him into for that matter) he also dances Zouk, Merengue, Rueda, Modern Jive and Samba (badly!). He is a keen social dancer and you can often find him out on the dance floor

Latin dance teaching style:
Mike has a friendly, fun and concise teaching manner. You will love his humour and his dance classes!!
Recently we held a themed south american evening at our restaurant 'TASTE', in Geraldine, which you provided four dancers at.
We just wanted to email to say that they did an absolutely outstanding job, were the highlight of the evening and well exceeded our expectations.
We have had guest after guest, commenting on how brilliant the dancers were. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with and the costumes were amazing.
We would like to thank them very much, especially for driving down from christchurch to perform & wish them all the very best in the future, and would without doubt use them again for upcoming theme nights.

Over the past years I have been fortunate enough to travel a fair bit to NZ and spend some very valuable time with long-time friends/dancers.
One thing that always stands out to me is how some schools are more like families.
Latin Fire is exactly this !!!
Each person in the team supports the other. They dance together, they party together, they hang out together. It’s like they live for each other. It’s no wonder that success breathes through such strong dance families… and I mean success in a bigger sense than competition success.
I can't believe that I, a lifelong DANCE PHOBIC, have been dancing for a whole year!
I'm sure I'm not the first, and I won't be the last, but I thought I'd voice my appreciation.
It means a lot to me (even if I still suck hahaha The point is I'm enjoying myself, right?)
I have Donna, Warren, Michael, Shannon, Richard and Nicola, who have taught me, all the advanced students, who have kindly given me feedback, and the whole Latin Fire community to thank for it.
At any point, I was just as likely to run than I was to stay, and I might very well not have stuck with it had it been any other place.
Cheers for laughing with me, not at me (shuddup, Michael Hobbs!) , and thank you for making me feel so welcome!
